Guidizio,Possibilità,Essere – Romeo Castellucci
Last week I worked with Romeo Castellucci and Societas Raffaello Sanzio. Unlike most of his other work which is placed on a stage, we performed at an alternative location...a school gym. Without theatre lights, the only lights used were the school gym lights, which is in most cases not very appealing. But for this performance it all worked very well together. We started rehearsing with the company on Monday to have the première on Wednesday. It was a very intensive period, but such a privilege to work with an artist as him. If you'd like to know more about him, check out his page at De Singel . (also available in English and French)

Nada Gambier : one of the people I enjoy working with
In life you sometimes meet nice people to work with. My list of such people is not very long but one of them I always enjoy working with is Nada Gambier, a choreographer/dancer/performer from Finland. She’s also one of the founders of Action Scénique. I’d like to put one of her last projects in the picture. The 14th of December between 16h and 20h you can visit the PIANOFABRIEK in Brussels to check out her video-installation “Mechanics of Emotion”.
Mechanics
of emotion is a
series of video installations: A Portrait, Spectator and The weight of invisible pain. The
project, composed of three independent and yet connected parts, is a study on
the different ways that emotions are manifested.
I
participated in the video “Spectator”.
Feel free to check it out!
More
future dates and locations will follow.

"31.08.13, 06u55 > 01.09.13, 06u56 / 51.12895, 4.71271"
On a slightly warm day at the end of the summer, somewhere in Belgium near a lake with a sign warning us for a red laser (we still don’t know what that was about), 2 girls were painted in silver by Sara Dykmans. The aim? A photo-shoot for the literary magazine Deus Ex Machina. And so we ended up bathing in a lake in our best nymph mode while keeping our eyes on a fresh young male victim lying in front of us. In the meantime Andy Huysmans, the photographer, gave us instructions on how to move in the water and drown the victim. He survived….and so did we.
Check out the nice photo reportage by Sara Dykmans and Andy Huysmans in the November issue of Deus Ex Machine.

Burlesque - Finissage - Press
After the great success of the launch and expo of One Armed Man at Designcenter de Winkelhaak (Antwerp) I'd like to invite you all for the "finissage" of this great expo. It's the last chance to see the work "Inner House Pin-Up" that I've made in a collaboration with Sofie Jaspers. The "finissage" will take place the 30th of August from 20pm 'till 2am (Lange Winkelhaakstraat 26/2060 Antwerp). There will be music, drinks and a lot of sexiness. If you still want to become an owner of an unique piece of my body, there's your chance!
For the ones who've always dreamed of trying a sensual burlesque dance, One Armed Man organizes a burlesque workshop the 25th of August, also at Designcenter de Winkelhaak. Places are limited, so be sure to subscribe yourself. Check the event HERE. To subscribe, send an email to info@jensdawn.be.
As a last word of this news update, I'd like to thank all the people who visited the exposition and had a word with me about my work. It was a great personal success and all the motivational words really touched me. I also want to mention my website has been linked on the website Het Stille Pand. Check it out!
And as a final end of this update, below a selection of press articles about the expo:

Inner House Pin-Up @ One Armed Man Magazine
One Armed Man Magazine |
Jens Dawn promised us a hot launch of his first magazine One Armed Man. Not only the temperature rocked sky high Saturday the 20th of July, but also the temperature of the exposition exploded beginning with the surprise burlesque dance-act by Tanja Rolus, who warmed up the audience on the tones of Nick Cave's Red Right Hand for the official launch of the magazine. After the speech by Jens Dawn the hotness continued on the tunes of Tip Toe Topic with sexy guitars covered with hot pin-up visuals. Luckily there was enough Belgian beer to cool us off! The exposition is still opened until the end of August @ Designcenter De Winkelhaak in Antwerp. If you're not living in Antwerp and want to order a copy of the One Armed Man or a small book of the art-piece "Inner House Pin-Up", a collaboration by Sofie Jaspers and me, contact me at info@inepieters.be.
